HUFC Over 30's East
HOLLYWOOD UNITED OVER 30'S EAST MATCH REPORT

The Tabo Report
Last night HUFC griff park over 30's secured a place in the playoffs by beating Tela Timsa better known as A.C.Milan. Despite HUFC dominating most of the play in the 1st half, it was Tela who came closest to scoring, when the ball broke free in the 6 yard box only for Pags to do a perfect point blank save and the ball somehow went over the bar. That was the first real warning that this team was no push over despite their low league position. All we needed from the game was a point which we had until 20 minutes to go ,with some slick passing outside the box their forward was put thru and all of a sudden we found ourselves a goal behind.
Thankfully we kept grinding away until eventually after a great throw out from Pags to Alex Hampsen who clipped it to Matt Stein who then generously set up Christian we were level again. Thankfully Tela kept searching for more goals which opened up the defense and lead Christian to bury a 25 yarder in the top right corner. Then just to put a cherry on top and get his first HUFC hat trick a long ball was knocked forward and Christian went up with a defender and the keeper and as the dust settled Christian was the last man standing and side footed his 3rd, quite a debut season he is having for us.
One quick side note maybe puma can come up with some arm-guards as well as shin-guards after Jason (PITBULL) Mathot received a pretty imprint of somebodies dental structure on his forearm after rolling round in the 18 yard box with their star striker. Despite the bite marks, it was only enough proof for a yellow card. Nuff said and thanks for a huge team effort last night

September 22ND 8.30 kick off versus Honduras
the game against our old rivals Honduras that beat us in the play-off finals 2 seasons ago 5-4 was always going to be a tricky game, especially since we signed their star forward Christian Ojogoho.
To add to the drama Jamal's crossroads game was on the same night,so we were going to be short of players,we started with 10 men and almost instantly Brian Crane pulled his hamstring so we were down to 9 and a half men 10 mins in.
Then our luck started to change, Matt Stein won a free kick 25 yards out and Craig Reynolds hit one of his trade mark free kicks to the top right hand corner the keeper had no chance one-nil to us.
Then from a cormac breslin thru ball, their keeper dropped the ball and Dave French was there to tidy up for our 2nd goal with the game escaping them Honduras pushed forward with a ball over the top ,stand in goal keeper Mark Tabberner rushed out of the area for a Wimbledon style clearance and inadvertly set up Matt Stein for his 1st of the night 3-nil, soon after it was time for Matt Stein's 2nd a great half volley from 20 yards out 4-nil.
With the wind finally out of Honduras sails after playing thru the pain Brian Crane limped out and 5 mins later it was half time.
That's when reinforcements arrived in Trevor Nugent and Christian, we went further ahead with a great headed goal from cormac after he laid the ball off in midfield and got on the end of a deep cross from the right hand side as we started to relax Honduras came back with a very sloppy goal only to have their expectation of a comeback killed when David French hooked the ball over the goal keepers head from 30 yards out,it was also his second of the night 6-1 was the final score,
With only two games remaining and four playoff places available its going to be a close exciting finish to the season with slamdance and the Burbank Red Machine hot on our tails.
